Dear DeviantArt User,

You have now stumbled upon the so-called crew for the bestselling book series by Lemony Snicket, "A Series of Unfortunate Events", which, contrary to popular belief, is not a club. A crew, in DA terms, means something along the lines of "a group of people wishing to portray, pose as or disguise themselves as characters from a well-loved show, novel or any fandom whatsoever".

If you wish to be a member, choose an empty character that has not yet been taken by another ASOUE reader and note me. You may comment, but I reply to notes more quickly. Characters will be assigned to interested volunteers in a first-come, first-serve basis. So if the character you want has been taken, opt for another one, or better yet, go join a happier, more colorful crew.

Please do not spam or flame, because if you are hiding from a terrible villain, you might end up causing enough chaos to give your position away and get you in trouble. Do not switch characters when you have chosen, so think carefully before noting or commenting, or better yet, turn your computer off.

Costumed characters like Captain Sham, Detective Dupin and Shirley all count towards the same person - in this case, Count Olaf. Besides, one Olaf is already evil enough - why create as many as his disguises?

Original characters are not accepted. I'm sorry.

If you wish to spread the word to other ASOUE and/or Lemony Snicket fans, please do so only if you really want to. And under no circumstances are they to bring matches, harpoon guns, or spoiled milk. And once you get yourself a character, please put a link to the crew in your signature, your journal, or on your left ankle.
