You think I hate your guts
And I love bossing you around
You think I'd like to see
Your face smashed into the ground

You think that in my spare time
I think of many ways to prank you
Well, I think you've gone crazy...
On second thought, sometimes I do.

You think I simply take pleasure
In seeing you suffer and whine
Or whenever you get in trouble
For putting a toe out of line.

But you want to know what I think?
I think that there's much more to that.
Maybe you'll just stare at me after this
And ask over and over, "What?"

Because I've been really blessed
With a great friend like you
This time, I'm not putting you on
I swear by my heart it's true.

When I feel really down and lost
Wading through my broken dreams
You shine the light onto my path
Making anything dark gleam.

Sometimes I just want to rant
And tear the world to shreds
You offer your shoulder and ears
Listening until my wrath ends.

When nobody understands me
And I'm going through a phase
You crack a joke or maybe two
Just to bring out my smiling face.

There are secrets I can never tell
But I entrust to you anyway,
They just stay locked up
Because you know what not to say.

Actually, words aren't enough
To express my gratitude
For accepting me as I am
From my actions to my attitude.

So the next time I tease you
Or torment you in some way,
Just shrug and tell yourself,
"She'll probably make sense...someday!"
