Bandwagon
By: PurpleDameKat
(This is about the bad kind of conformity...you know, doing bad 'cause everyone else is doing it. XD Other bandwagons are good; you just have to know what they are.)

All the people start climbing aboard
Heeding the yells of the driver
He shrieks and shouts about how good
His wagon is supposed to be

Anyone left is called a loser
Including anyone who leaves or jumps off
Nobody wants to be called a loser
So nobody leaves or jumps off

The so-called losers look on
As the bandwagon begins to move
Passing through different places
Picking up more passengers

The wheels sag under the weight
The wooden planks creak
The back is noisy
The front has an excited driver

He proclaims how business is booming,
How wonderful it is to have lots of followers
Everyone seated in his lovely bandwagon
If there's no more space, there's always the floor

But a strong wind blows
Rocking the bandwagon with its storm
They hang upon a rope bridge
Hoping to cross the other side

And then the tempests increase
Oh, how dangerous it gets
But nobody dares abandon the wagon
Because nobody dares become a loser

The tragedy is quick; nobody is spared
The bandwagon tumbles off, over the cliff, into the ravine
Never to be seen again
Losers, one.
Bandwagon, zero.
Title says it all.

And I'm a non-conformist.

And...I haven't been doing a lot of poetry lately.

And...I should be doing other things besides faving other people's art.

And...yeah.

Very nice, Kat. I thought the flow was fine, but I'm not used to critiquing non-rhyming poems (I know, how narrow-minded of me...). Great message, though. ^^
